A magical visit to Mongolia in the middle of the Alps!

Looking for something a little different to do of an evening during your holiday? Le Chalet de la Marine in Val Thorens has installed an authentic Mongolian yurt at an altitude of 2500m just off the Dalles blue piste in the centre of the resort’s ski area.

Fitted for up to 16 people, this warm, welcoming and typically Mongolian attraction offers an unforgettable evening for you and your family and friends.

Traditional stew dishes, desserts and tea are prepared by the chalet’s talented chefs and served on an authentic stove at the centre of the yurt. Enjoy the cosy and relaxing atmosphere and feel yourself transported to the plains of Outer Mongolia for the evening…

The yurt is accessible on skis via the Cascade chair lift (last ascent at 17.05), or you can make an adventure of it and hire a guide to take you up on snow shoes. At the end of the evening you can descend by torchlight all the way back down to Val Thorens.

The yurt is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening; please use the email address below to contact the Chalet de La Marine for further details and bookings.
