Book early
We recommend you book your apartment accommodation as soon as possible. Apartments usually sell out quite quickly and a lot of people book as early as January for the next winter season. Book it before buying your flights or train ticket, the reason being that availability may be limited and arrival/departure dates are not always as flexible as travel options.

How long you want to stay

Summer bookings in Val Thorens are generally much more flexible on dates and length of stay, especially outside the peak months of July and August. Val Thorens is really well set up for mountain-loving families, with plenty of activities for all ages and a host of family-friendly apartments. Family holidays tend to have their own unique requirements, and services for families in Val Thorens can range from providing cots and highchairs to babysitting and childcare services. Where can you find family-friendly apartments in Val Thorens?
Val Thorens has nursery ski slopes right in the village centre and some of the lifts can even be used for free. There is also a good selection of ski schools while the resort has a modern ski lift infrastructure to help you explore the ski area easily and quickly. Les Menuires is also popular with families – it has its own nursery slopes, plenty of green runs and is connected to Val Thorens via the lift system while, being at a lower altitude, it may be more suitable a destination for those with toddlers.

Val Thorens isn't well know for its affordability. However, there are some great bargains to be had in its surrounding area, and even in the centre of town if you time your holiday well.

How can you save money on your Val Thorens accommodation?
Les Menuires is great for skiers on a budget wanting centrally located, cheap accommodation with direct access to the Three Valleys. There are lots of functional apartment buildings here, constructed in the 1970s, and plenty of them are located in the area of La Croisette, right next to the piste.

Ski-in/ski-out apartments are the most sought-after in Val Thorens. There's no better feeling than being able to put your skis on right outside your front door.

Where can you find ski-in & ski-out apartments in Val Thorens?
Most of the apartments in Val Thorens centre are ski-in/ski-out or, at least, ski to the door as the main streets in resort turn into pistes when the winter rolls in. Les Menuires also has plenty of slope side apartments – search our for those located in La Croisette.
